The most noticeable of these was the videotape format of the 80s. In 1982 Sony introduced the shared Compact Disc format and Betacam videotape set-up. In 1983 it also launched 90 mm micro diskettes commonly known as floppy disks. Sony had enormous achievement and the design became dominant; 3.5" floppy disks steadily became outdated. In 1983 Sony also introduced the MSX, a home computer system, and introduced the world to the CD.
