Research is also recognized by numerous other terms such as: collaborative inquiry, emancipatory research, participatory research, contextual learning and action research; but all are disproportion on the subject. Basically research is learning by doing. A group of people recognizes a problem and try to resolve it by doing something, observe how victorious their hard work were, and if not fulfilled, try over again. This is the fundamental nature of the approach but there are further key characteristics of research that distinguish it from ordinary problem-solving actions that we all hold in every day.
Research aims to contribute equally to the goals of social science at the same time and further practical apprehension of people in instant problematic circumstances. Consequently, there is a twin dedication in research to revise a system and at the same time collaborate with components of the system to alter it in an advantageous direction. Achieving this dual objective needs the active teamwork of client and researcher, and therefore it stresses the significance of co-learning as a primary characteristic of the research process.
What divides this sort of research from common consulting, professional practices and daily problem-solving is the prominence on scientific studies. It means to articulate the researcher studies dilemma analytically and make sure that the interference is educated by theoretical deliberations. Much of the researcher’s time is devoted to refine the methodological tools to suit the exigency of the circumstances on collecting, analyzing, and presenting data on a continuing, recurring basis.
There are numerous characteristics that separate action research from other kinds of research. Most important is its center on rotating the people concerned with research; people learn best, and more keenly used what they have learned. It is a social measurement; the research occurs in real-world circumstances and intends to resolve authentic problems.
A detailed study is required to improve the conditions of organization or any other institution. An effort which is directed to such studies for improved results is identified as a research. Research is an established set of activities to develop and study a model or system to find out the results of a problem supported by previous studies. Research methodology is defined as a system of procedures, techniques and models used to find out the results of the specific problems.
