Threats from the Substitute Products
Threats from the substitute products is consider as a weak force for the Microsoft, as manual-mechanical processes or non-online processes, have low performance as compared to the Microsoft’s products performance. There are many products of Microsoft that are best in the market and widely known as Microsoft Office software.
The adoption of technological items globally has reduced the substitute items availability and lower the threats of substitute items for Microsoft. However, the switching cost is moderate, but Microsoft is successful in developing the strong customer base who do not prefer any other brand over Microsoft (Ferguson, 2017).
Rivalry of Existing Players
Competition level among the firms in the industry is fierce in terms of consumer electronics and technology. There are already large numbers of rivals in industry operating currently and are well-known brands like IBM, Acer, etc. and working in the global market successfully. In the business and productivity process, Microsoft is competing with Facebook, Slack, Google, Apple, IBM, and Cisco System, and many local web-based developers and mobile application rivals with global and software application vendor.
Software, Personal computing and application industry also has increasing growth rate that attracts many rivals to enter and increase the level of competition at the global level (Dudovskiy, 2019).
