The project expeditor is a role which project manager has to play in weak matrix or functional organization. In both type of organization, the functional manager has more power therefore, project manager plays limited role of project expeditor or project coordinator.
The project expeditor acts as a communication coordinator who could the internal and external information with the team via different communication channels such as telephonic calls, emails, meetings and etc.
